Richie Hawtin has worked with Latvia’s Erica Synths on a new drum machine.
Described as a “versatile” drum machine, sampler and CV/gate sequencer, the Bullfrog Drums aims to be an educational tool for honing drum programming skills, sampling techniques and live performance.
Co-designed with Hawtin, the analogue synth is equipped with a primary colour-splashed interface inspired by classic drum machines and features for crafting drum patterns. It comes furnished with seven sample-based drum voices and seven sound parameters (including attack, decay and panning) for shaping the sounds.
