Deezer has launched a new AI music detection tool that works across 20 of the most widely used streaming platforms.
The free tool is available in 27 languages and allows users to check whether any AI-generated music appears in playlists they create on other streaming services. Deezer said the launch is informed by its own research, which found that 43% of users joining from other services already had AI music in their playlists, while 80% expressed a preference for AI-generated tracks to be clearly labelled.
The system works by identifying “specific artifacts” left in audio by generative software, with Deezer saying its scanner is more than 99% accurate.
