Coachella hit with $117,000 fine for violating curfew regulations

Goldenvoice, the company behind Coachella, has been fined a total of $117,000 (£94,071) due to violating the curfew regulations on all nights of the festival’s opening weekend.

In 2013, the city of Indio and Coachella entered into an agreement that stipulated an 11 PM cutoff time on Sundays and a midnight cutoff time on Fridays and Saturdays.

The celebration extended past its designated end time by roughly 20 minutes every evening – 25 on Friday, 22 on Saturday and 25 again on Sunday.

The agreement states that for any festival that continues past the curfew for five minutes, the organizers will be fined $20,000 and an additional $1,000 for every minute past that.
